All data floors and technical areas are equipped with a redundant Very Early Smoke Detection Alarms (VESDA) system which detects dust and soot particles. In the event a fire starts, the oxygen concentration will be lowered by a gaseous extinguishing system and the flames will quickly extinguish. Argonite is used for this, which is a gas mixture of argon and nitrogen. This mixture is stored under high pressure and automatically injected into the room when a fire breaks out. This approach to fire-fighting does not damage the equipment.
